Two hours’ homework a night linked to better school results

Spending more than two hours a night doing homework is linked toachieving better results in English, maths and science,
according to a major study which has tracked the progress of 3,000 children over the past 15 years.

School maths lessons: Pupils ‘scared to ask for help’

Secondary school pupils are so scared of looking stupid in maths lessons they will not tell their teachers if they do not understand, suggests research.

A big factor in why we launched Stuck on homework – this research shows that two-thirds would rather struggle alone or ask friends or family for help. Stuck on homework provides a teacher in the home and an invaluable opportunity to go back over key points that might have been missed in a lesson.
